Crate Recommendations?

HI All,

My girlfriend is watching my dog Jake, and you can see what he has done. The cage we have is not working, anyone have any recommendations for a really good crate that he can't get out of. This current cage he can use his paws to get out of. The couch was by the wall and Jake moved it to its current location as well as moving the table 90 degrees.

Thanks

It depends on your budget and how much of an escape artist your dog is. Wire crates have never worked for my girl because she knows she can bend the wires or pull things through. She isnít crate crazy though, so a Vari Kennel 400 is perfect for her. Sheís never bothered to try and escape, and it being dark and den like has actually made her love going into her crate throughout the day and night by choice.

Itís affordable in comparison to the crates you might need if your dog is crate crazy - some dogs can escape the Vari crates easily, or chew through the plastic. If they do, I recommend the reinforced Impact Crates (https://www.impactdogcrates.com/prod...xiety-crate-xl), Gunner Kennels (https://gunner.com/products/g1-intermediate-dog-crate), or RTK crates as a cheaper alternative because they have no seams (https://rufflandkennels.com/product/large-kennel/).

The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog.

I am laughing at the undisturbed plant on top of the destroyed crate and next to the destroyed seat! Yeah, those wire crates do not hold up to determined dogs. It is hard to say how much crate will be enough. Can you get a used plastic airline crate like a vari kennel? They have them on the cheap on a lot of swap and sell sites on FB and such. Or if it is in the budget just go for an impact crate like what Femfa posted. It will cost more but it will spare you spending any more money on a crate that wont work and whatever is destroyed in the aftermath not to mention potential vet bills (looks like your dog got a lot of "fiber" that day).
