What will gunner be?!

Long hair or short hair , sable or saddle back. Dad was all black long hair shepard mom was medium coat saddle back. Here are some pictures . 8 weeks today

To, and I'm no expert, he looks like he is and will be a black and tan coaty. Cute puppy!

If the sire was black, and the dam was black and tan, then your puppy cannot be sable. Looks like a long coated black and tan.

Train the dog in front of you.

From what I understand (I read it somewhere), blacks are recessive genes; sables are dominant genes; and black and reds/tans are in between. Anyway, to the OP, it's hard to tell when they're that young. Many GSDs go through some significant color changes in the first year alone. Right now, like someone above said, your pup looks like a typical long coat black and tan. Could be a plush coat, but probably a long coat. Very cute, btw.
