Funny Rocky Stories
As some of you know, I have a few pieces of agility equipment in my back yard including an A-Frame. One morning, I let Rocky out the back door and he, as he often does, bolted across the yard after a squirrel. I was not unduly concerned because, as fast as my dogs have always seemed to me, none of them have ever been able to actually catch a rabbit or a squirrel. I was watching out the door, but then the chase went behind my garage where I couldn't see. A minute later, both the squirrel and Rocky came flat out running into my sight again. Because it was right in his path, the squirrel went running up and down the A-Frame with Rocky running beside him, making this possibly the first agility trial won by a squirrel.
The second story took place yesterday. I am in the process of downsizing and had selected some furniture and other items to donate to a local charity. It was 5 pieces of furniture, three of them being pretty heavy. I have an enclosed front porch, and all the items were out on the porch by 8 that morning, as per instructions. I was expecting the truck to come early, but they didn't, and as the morning went on, I wondered if they were coming at all, so I called the charity. The lady I spoke to confirmed that the drivers were out, but could not tell me for sure whether I was on their list. By mid afternoon, they still had not arrived, and I really thought there had been some mistake and they weren't coming at all that day. I was in my living room watching Forensic Files on Netflix and Rocky was snoozing by the front door when all the sudden I heard a click of the porch door opening. In the next second, Rocky had exploded into fury at the front door and I came running in from the living room. Right as I got there, Rocky had risen on his hind legs and was glaring at the two male "intruders" through the window in the front door. I was just in time to see two sets of very large human eyes and to hear one of them say "Mother of God!!!" I tried very hard not to giggle as I dragged Rocky away from the door.
