Birthday treat/cake?

On September 24th, Cranberry will be turning 1 year old!! I want to celebrate, I just don't know what to use as a cake.

Unfortunately, Cranberry and her sister, Delta don't get along... So we'll have to do two different celebrations. Thanks!

You can look for s place that makes cakes for dogs. They are all over the place now. Some places offer large doggie cookies too, I love celebrating my dogs birthdays.

I have celebrated Vala's birthday at the club with carrot cake a number of times. That way both she can have a piece and so can my club members. It is also pretty easy to make.

I celebrate Traveler's birthday every year. Sometimes it is a special dinner and sometimes he gets a special cake.

Since you mentioned cake, I found this pic to share. Watermelon and cottage cheese- two of his favorites

There are pet stores that sell "pupcakes" or dog cookies with yogurt icing. I like those better than a full dog-safe cake because they tend to be a little smaller and not the size of my dog's whole dinner. A very popular cupcake bakery chain in the Twin Cities (for humans) makes puppy cupcakes as well, in a mini size. I like those best because of the even smaller size and because everything that bakery does is awesome. I'd check out sources like that for Cranberry's birthday.

Thanks everyone!!! I just made her a homemade cake out of dog food. Dry kibble soaked in water to make soft and canned dog food on top as icing. She loved it!

Yes I went into a cupcake bakery and brought home pupcakes for the dogs! They loved it there was one left over and I tried it - was a carrot cake super moist and delicious the best I hAve had. The carrot cake is a good idea. One year we did pumpkin pie since Max's bday in October. We happened to be in the pet store and saw these dog gourmet cookies for luna's bday. They seemed to really enjoy these cookies -even our chihuahua liked them he usually does not eat dog treats. I put them on a fancy pink cake plate with a fake tea light candle!
