Dog got skunked...

Hi everyone. I am hoping you guys might be able to help me out with a skunk incident we had last night. Our dog Koda barked at something outside the window, so we took him to investigate, thinking there might be someone lurking around there or something. Well, it turned out to be a skunk and he got sprayed right in the face. We cleaned him up as much as we could with hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap, and he smells lovely except for his face, since I don't want to get the stuff in his eyes or mouth. Does anyone know how to effectively clean his face off after that? Thanks in advance!

Soak a cloth with the solution and carefully dab his face with it. Let time take care of the rest. Deja barks at skunks before we smell them but I foresaw this issue so I always go out before her. It is usually a skunk, possum or deer, never has it been a burglar.

Don't forget to wash the collar (soak it in Oxyclean for a long time), or throw it out and get a different one.

I couldn't quite pinpoint the residual stink after our last skunking episode, and the collar was the culprit - every time it got damp, essence of skunk returned.
