Fence height?

I'm thinking about putting up a chain link fence so Bella can be free while outside. What height is recommended? 4ft? 5ft? or 6ft? She will only be outside while I am watching her, so I don't really have to worry about her escaping.

Thanks

Devan

I say the higher the better. This fence is almost 5ft and you can see that if he wanted to, he has no problem clearing it.

Not sure if that's your dog, but it's a gorgeous picture and animal.

I would agree that higher is always better. I was playing fetch with Jade and accidentally threw the ball into the neighbors yard. We have a 6 ft foot but Jade was very upset that she couldn't get her ball. She jumped up and her head cleared the top of the fence! And she is only 9 months old! I don't know know if she will ever be able to actually jump it but I really don't want to find out!

Go with 6' if you can. I have one gate that's 4' and I need to replace it. Even with 6' you'll need to be careful, I had a lab mix that could jump them, none of my gsds have tried so far and I hope it stays that way. We rarely let the outside without keeping an eye on them.

You might want to check with your homeowner's insurance. They may have specifications that would assist in your decision.
