The guy helping out at the Humane Society where we have puppy school asked us the same question. He said, "We have one just like her inside." Not much of a dog person but he was kindly helping out playing with the dogs.

I see nothing wrong with people asking what the dog is. They know it's a shepherd but just what to verify it that's all.

Or a sable...but I love that question, then I get to explain to them what a sable is and how it is the dominant/original color of the breed.

I got "Is that a German Shepherd? Wow, we don't see those around here! People out here all have pit bulls."

Made me lol a little bit. Apparently I have a very rare breed of dog!

People trying to be friendly can't win sometimes.

If they guess the breed you've got on the end of your lease wrong, they're ignorant and annoying. If they get it right, they're still ignorant and annoying.

People today are too easily annoyed. That's my rant.
