How far do you or are willing to travel for training?

I'm just browsing for training groups on google and there's none close by. Everywhere I look, it's either 2 or 3 hours away. How far do you travel to your training grounds?

I got lucky and only travel about half an hour away, but I think if I didn't have any options, I'd go up to two hours once a week. Or one hour twice a week.

Or I'd try to organize a group closer to me.

I've just been observing as my pup isn't even born yet but when he/she is ready for training I will be training about 3 hours away.

Half an hour would be great! I would even do an hour away but wow. 3 hours away? I mean, I can understand that the farther out, the more land to train with but it's a really far commute for several sessions a week. I'm just trying to make sure I'm not the only one thinking it's pretty far.

3 hours is definitely pretty far. That sucks that there isn't anything closer.

I travel 3-4 times a year to train with my dogs breeders. They are a 12-14 hour drive away (road dependant). We will stay for anywhere from 5 - 10 days at a time.

LOL...I get 3 weeks a year, and I can also make up as much time as needed before we go, so I can add days/weeks if needed.

This year we are doing 3 trips to Alaska for dog training and trialing - I LOVE ALASKA! We always have such a great time when we go, and we come back with a wealth of knowledge.

Next year we are going to Hungary for 5 weeks! I am flying my two shepherds with me so they can train and trial. We (my friend and I) are also going to be FCI certified as dog trainers, going through an intense 3 week training certification (12 hours a day, 7 days a week). And we get to go to the 2013 World Dog Show! Yep - the things I do with my dogs....LOL
