So mad right now!!

So my husbands college roomate we bump into him all the time at the dog park. He has a Rhodesian Ridgeback with a really
Weird name so we will call him sled. Well he is same age if not younger than my dia. Who is about to be 11 months pretty soon. Well my hubbys roommate had an unplanned pregnancy with his girl and just had a baby last month or so. So they had this dog entire time she was pregnant. Well i got a message from a dog park friend saying he gave up sled to the shelter. Im pissed!!! If you know a baby is coming and your dog is wild, get a freaking trainer to help you. They got this dog from a breeder and everything! Gah!!!!!

not cool, that's like dumping your human kid off at an orphanage. "sorry baby, we loved you for a while, but your just not working out..." I share your anger

If you know who the breeder is, then call them and let them know their dog is in a shelter (kill shelter??).

are you pissed because they gave the dog to a rescue
or are you pissed because they gave the up because they're having a
baby? it's better for the dog and the baby that they give the
dog up knowing they aren't responsible for the dog.

it is cool. if you're not going to be a parent to your child
the child is better off with a caring family. if you're not
going to be responsible ( a human parent to your dog))for
your dog it's better off in caring home.

Dont you think for one minute this attitude of yours will be accepted on the forum. And i do have a right to judge. Have you ever once worked/volunteered at a kill shelter because i have. Its people who adopt these dogs and make them disposable that are the issue. When you adopt an animal it is for their forever home not until i have kids home nor until i get married home. Life happens and they should have thought about it before adopting it.

i agree with you, it is better to give your kid (fur or human) to a better family if you can't give them a good home. I was purely going off of what was originally posted. there are always 2 sides to the story.

I get the impression they didn't even try. Why should people's knee jerk reaction be "get rid of the dog"??
