Longest day EVER!!!!

SO I had to go to my clinical rotation from 8 am to noon. Then I had to go to school and do my surgery lab. And it sucked. Everything went fine I was just freaking out a little bit because my surgery was on Jericho. He got neutered today and I did the anesthesia for him. My hands are still shakey. Stupidest thing ever was having to do that on my own dog. Granted it wasn't hard but it's nerve racking to have to put your own dog under and monitor him as they are cutting him open. . He and I are home now though and he is doing extremely well being a big baby cuddled up next to me. He wanted nothing but to be right next to me after he woke up I love my puppy dog.

I think my nevers would have been high too. Its your baby! It's perfectly normal to have those feelings. The thing is most owners don't get to actualy be there while there dog is going through surgery. So see it as a plus that you were right there by his side. I'm glad every thing went ok and you were the first thing he seen. I pray for his speedy recovery.

Thanks! Yeah it was an expierence that's for sure. The good thing is his temp never dropped under 98 so he woke up really fast and the vet loves him. The vet doesn't really like Shepherds but Jericho won him over pretty quickly as he was waking up the vet was checking his gums and Jericho licked his hands. I'm glad he came out of it pretty much normal. No vocalizing or thrashing around at all.

Yes I am very proud of him. He did so well. His meds are wearing off though and he's in pain so I had to give him the pain-meds I got sent home with.
