What colour sable is he?

Kofi is my first sable GSD and I was just wondering what type of sable he would be classed as? I only know of dark sable and red sable and I don't think he is either of those? What other kinds are there or is he just 'sable'

Also, he is 14 months old, do you think he will change more or has he reached his adult colour?

Here he is from the side..

Thanks

Thank you..

Here is his litter sisters pedigree ( I haven't added him yet to the database)

Moonwater Meggie - German shepherd dog

His sire is Sch III, FH2, I don't know why that isn't added..

I think he is a gorgeous sable. I am not sure what they call the 'regular' sable coloring. I have seen red/cinnamon sable and the black sable, silver sable, and 'regular sable'.

I would guess him to be a patterned dark sable - as in the sable coloring is mostly in a blanket back pattern. At first glance he looks lie a dark black and tan, but you can definitely see from the head-on shots that he is a sable.

Gorgeous boy though, love his bone and coat.

Thank you for the lovely comments everyone!

I always think he looks very black and tan from the front, especially when he is sat up as he is quite pale at the front.

But I your description sounds exactly right, he has the pattern of a black and tan but with sable instead of black. Yay, now I know what to call him!

Do you think he will get any darker? Do they change much after a year old?
