Hair, Hair and More Hair!

Okay....how does everyone combat the hair?!

I vacuum 2 rooms and my canister is full! And this is every day!
Not to mention the furniture. The hair is every where.....I'm not sure how the pup is not bald!

So, give me your best advise.....how do you combat hair!

I personally use 4 different comb/brushes + the vacuum hose attachment.

Re: Hair, Hair and More Hair!

Vacuum hose on the dog? I used to vacuum my Lab, and it got so bad that when he heard it turn on he would run over and wait!

Timber, doesn't like it so much.

But, I brush and brush and brush and still...its everywhere. Although, I am going to try the furminator!

Any tips with the furniture? The vacuum doesn't get it all off, especially the ones that stick in like needles!

Re: Hair, Hair and More Hair!

I've heard the pledge fabric sweeper for pet hair works really well. I've never tried it though. I just eat the hair. :P

Re: Hair, Hair and More Hair!

I saw the commercial for that also.

I just put my coat on a short while ago and saw hair flitter off it to the floor!
And I think since he is white, it shows on just about everything....although I am sure you guys feel the same way about the other colors also!

Re: Hair, Hair and More Hair!

Omg you vacuum once a day?! I have a whole upstairs with carpet and I couldn't imagine doing it more than 1x a week! :P

Sigurd doesn't shed much, though. I give him 3 fish pills a day and two raw eggs with breakfast. He gets groomed every 6 weeks, with a full blow out and Furminator treatment. In those 6 weeks I brush him maybe once with the Furminator.

Maybe add fish pills and eggs to his diet. Sigurd's coat is shiny, smooth and doesn't fall out much. A good blow out of his hair every once and while will help, too. And for the furniture... get all leather!

Re: Hair, Hair and More Hair!

I use the pledge sweeper on my microfiber sofa. (My next sofa is going to be leather or pleather.)

I rigged it so I don't have to throw it away when it's full. I cut a slit with a razor blade on the top of it. When it's full of hair, I gently pull the hair out through the slit.
