Dog magazine recommendations

I was looking to order a subsription to a good dog magazine, but I don't know any. I'm sure there have to be some good ones out there.

Not looking for anything specific, just wanted a general dog magazine to keep me busy at work during down time. Any good recommendations?

Personally my favorite is the Whole Dog Journal.

Re: Dog magazine recommendations

WDJ is the best, imo, for overall training, nutrition, & health info. But if you just want something that is fun to look through and has some good articles (like Patricia McConnell training columns every month), BARK is pretty good too.

Mine, too. I had Bark a few years ago and it was pretty good.

I have a free subscription to Dog World...mostly adds and little content...wouldn't pay for it!

Re: Dog magazine recommendations

I had a subscription to FIDO FRIENDLY and really enjoyed it. If you like to travel with your dog, or read about other people's adventures traveling with their pooch, you might enjoy this magazine. It's one of the few magazines I actually read from cover-to-cover. It also had other information about dogs, but was mainly about travel and dog-friendly spots.

If you subscribe thru their website you have several choices as to the type of subscription you want (online/mail/combination).

You can save a few bucks if you subscribe thru Amazon or other magazine subscription services.

Re: Dog magazine recommendations

Yeah i was looking for something that has pictures and is more fun to look at so bark looks like a good idea.

I went to the WDJ website to take a look and that looks like the wall street journal of dog magazine. I'm looking for a more colorful and easy read. Stuff i can just pick up that will keep me entertained when bored.

I think ill give bark a shot though. thanks for the help.

Re: Dog magazine recommendations

If you subscribe to Bark they will send you a neat bumpersticker that says "Dog is My Co-Pilot!".

It is one of my favorite magazines too.
