When my sister's dog is getting petted or as a hand on her while Zelda walks by or is just standing a yard away from her. My sister's dog usually will act out aggressively to Zelda. With teeth, growling, snarling- and its quite sudden and can be completely out of the blue with no warnings.
Although I am trying to manage this, it is hard when not everyone is on board. So i'm wondering what this means and what I can do to help her not do that or at least better ways to prevent it.. I feel really bad for Zelda, and my sisters dog does also do this to our beagle,a lot less as the beagle doesn't care to be around other dogs in general and stays in the other room.
In general the girls get along very well, Zelda LOVES playing with her sister! And only do they escalate to a level where i have to stop them, but it happens rarely. My sister's dog does have resource guarding with food and toys to other dogs. So obviously that can be kept managed decently well. As she has lashed out and hurt my dog over something that was apparently high value.. Such as a sock, tennis ball, or a stick, etc. So perhaps this is in hand with her resource guarding? Not really sure!
Thanks guys!
