Re: Change that word!

after a wild scurry, the bats settled down and went back to hanging from the barn's rafters. since it was comming up to suppertime, GD sweet-talked chicken into pecking for some worms so they have some fishing bait.

But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over. ~ Jer. 18:4

Re: Change that word!

GD laid with his head between his paws watching chicken peck. The tip of his tail would gently wag when ever she pecked out a worm. He couldn't wait to go fishing!

Re: Change that word!

chicken placed a mess of worms in the basket. GD picked up the basket and took it down to the creek, trotting along at a liesurely gait. skunk, bear and elk were already there on the beach and had the perfect fishing spot picked out. seal floated by and said "you didn't have to go through all that trouble, i'll gladly dive for the fish and bring them to you."

Re: Change that word!

Skunk, and Elk agreed with seal. GD looked at the bucket of worms and up at chicken, he wasn't sure what to say. He sadly lowered his head. Bear noticing the disapiontment in GD's face spoke up. "No thanks seal, that was nice of you to offer, but sometimes the gain is not in the fish but in the joy of fishing"

Re: Change that word!

you could tell by the big grin on GD & chicken's faces they were happy the all the worm fetching would not be in vain. the worms on the other hand were not so happy.

Re: Change that word!

The worms knew that when the dinner bell rang, they would be the main entree.

Re: Change that word!

after their supper of fish & left over worms, they gather around the campfire, as they did most evenings, and sang their favorite songs. GD always did his best to keep from howling, but sometimes he just couldn't help himself. off in the distance, the wolves heard the howling; they came in closer for a better look at what was going on.

Re: Change that word!

When GD saw the wolves approach, he was worried about his friends saftey. So with quick thinking he walked up to the wolves and asked if they would lke to be taught a new song.

Re: Change that word!

they said "yes! teach us a new song".
GD said "ok, this is how you sing... put your nose up in the air and make your lips form an 'o', take a deep breath then just let 'er rip. and don't worry about the words, chicken does that part".
alpha wolf said "that sounds like howling to me".
