well we've been struggling to find a food for kyah that comes out the other end in a sold form. but we finally have.
turns out a half and half mix of orijen puppy, with canidae als, and a little canidae chicken and rice wet, works amazing.
originally we started her on the same food the breeder was using. (eagle pack). stool was runny and i could see there was some undisgested stuff in there. we gave it a week thinking maybe it was stress related to the change over to our house. but it continued and eventually turned into bad diarrhea. (wont get into the whole vet thing)
then decided to try new foods.
science diet - i know, i was ignorant....
california natural - runny, and really bad smell...
orijen - worked well, good color, but not quite there. heard the high protien can cause pudding like poop.
canidae als - i was mixing it in with the orijen slowly to ween her on to it, and all of a sudden. perfect poop.
going to continue this mix for now and see how it goes. but so far so good. *cross fingers*
im gonna compare ingredients with the other old bags and see if maybe i can narrow down an allergy to something that the other foods had.
but shes doing well, good weight. 13 weeks, 27 pounds.
posted some pics up here:
i made the food decisions based on a lot of the posts on this site and everyones suggestions, so i suppose a lot of you guys are to thank.
