Can he eats this bones?

I fed my 5 mo FROMM kibbles along with Merrick can food as a topper. Smothered comfort has real chicken in it. And they aren't kidding about real chicken. It is literally pieces of chicken thigh fall off the bones. The first couple of times I saw it I thought maybe they didn't intend for bones to be there. But I start to see it in almost every can now. Are these bones for him to eat too? Can he actually digest it?

Now that you have read it this far, will you help me with another matter .. I wonder if what I feed him is too much..

This is what all I feed:
FROMM kibbles (3 cups a day)
Merrick can food topper (1/4 can a meal = 3/4 can a day)
Nuvet plus supplement (1 tablet a day, only because he loves it)
Fish oil (once a week)

Treats and dessert are given sparingly and usually
Yogurt
Peanut butter
Cheerios
String Cheese
Blueberries
Apple
Carrot
Zuke treats from the shelves.

Thank you!

hmmm....can you smush the bones between your fingers? Cooked bones are generally off limits but I've heard when they are pressure cooked they are very soft. So maybe this is the same?

The bones are fine to eat. I think it even says in the fine print on the can that's it ok to eat the bones.

I used to feed one of those Merrick formulas that had bones in it and they're pretty soft. Never had a problem with it.

Thank you guys. I thought he probably would love it. I will try crushing it with my finger and see how it is tonight.

Lucy dog, since you have used them before, was it good for your dog?

It's fine to feed to them. All of the Merrick canned foods are pretty good.

I'd cut out the Nuvet supplements. Did your breeder push those on you? It's really not needed since you're feeding a quality kibble. It's kind of a waste of money if you ask me.

At first the breeder was recommending it. But he gave us the first bottle for free so I let him have it. After the research I decided not to rely on it but turns out that my dog loves them. So I continue giving it to him. When he really refuse to eat food (which happen very often) I crushed them in pieces and mix it in the bowl. Works every time

Oh and I asked about Merrick can food because it is new to me. Lincoln seems to like it but since its a all life stage grain free I wasn't sure if that was too much for a 5 mo or not. So thanks for the feedback
