feeding a puppy

Ok so for the past couple of days i have been feeding my 8 week old pup Orijen large breed puppy food. Im kinda confused at how much i should be feeding him. Right now he gets 2 cups twice a day. Of course that 4 cups is not all Orijen. I have his old stuff mixed in so I can whean him off and onto Orijen. The funny thing is he will slowly pick out all the Origen and leave his old food in the bowl. So should I just cut out his old stuff right away and give him orijen? His last couple of poops have all been solid.

I would still mix it in, for a week or so. And at that age, I would feed 3x's a day til the pup is 12 to 16 weeks.
If the poop does get runny, that would be a sign of overfeeding. With growing pups you have to go with what the pup feels like, you should feel ribs but not too skinny. As they go thru spurts, you may have to increase the amount or decrease if they feel too plump.

I think that's way too much, our 6 month old (75 pounds) gets about 5 cups a day of Orijen dog,and he is exercised with off leash walks and ball play in addition to dog play at least 4 hours every day. What's the label say?

im sure she meant keep the total amount for the day the same (4 cups), but divide it into 3 meals relatively evenly (1 1/3 cup per meal).
