Seems us New Englanders are all spread out! So of course I will throw out another possible meet up for anyone closer...
My town is in the foothills to the Berkshires. Very rural town. Lots of dirt roads to walk the dogs, great foliage right now, and some streams. If you don't like the country (hehehe) there are other parks/areas close to go to as well.
Close by there is Granville State Forest which is gorgeous with it's deep brooks and streams, Tolland State Forest on Otis Resevoir, as well as Stanley Park in Westfield.
To give an idea where I am I am located, I am 45 minutes north of Hartford on the Ct/MA line. Tolland butts up against Colebrook, Granby and Hartland CT.
For those in MA, the two closest towns are Southwick and Granville. I am an hour and a half west of Worcester.
For NY'ers I am an hour east of Hillsdale NY and 2 1/2 hours north of NYC.
From VT, I am an hour south of Brattleboro.
If anyone is interested, let me know.
I had mentioned before to someone, I live on 8 acres in the country. I was thinking about hosting a camp out next Spring/Summer. Plenty of room to pitch a tent and have the pups run. We could make a weekend out of it where if someone had to travel a bit they would not be stuck having to drive all the way home on the same day. DH is great on the grill and we could do the old fashioned camp fire too and cook up some smores
We could also do it this time of year if anyone is interested and have a tent to pitch!
Not sure if this link will work, but you can get an idea what I am talking about
