Ecollar contact point don't hurt??

Hello guys,

So my Mini Educator ET 300 plus arrived. https://www.educatorcollars.com/working-dogs?p=2

It has the two receivers and the bungee.

I am having him wear it in the house. Play outside with it etc. Take it off and on as a "normal collar" in preparation.

For a proper fit and for the probes to have contacts, it means that that those needs to be pressing against neck and skin and high on the neck.

He wears it and does not seem bothered, but I can't help but think that these things sticking into his neck somehow hurt him ??

Thoughts....

Many thanks

I'd imagine that it might be slightly uncomfortable at first, but not painful. I think that's typically why they want the dog to wear the collar for a few weeks without actually using it - for them to get used to something so tight on their neck.

You might need longer contact points, though, since GSDs have the double coat. I've seen people rub the receiver up and down on the dogs neck to push away fur and get better contact with the skin.

Thank you Katsugsd for the feedback.

Do any of you guys feel like using the longer probes necessary?

Thanks

If you are concerned or have issues with the probes there are "grids" available you can use to replace them.

I had to get longer contacts for one of my pups and it still doesn't always make contact. The collars really don't seem to bother my dogs, but then I only have it on them for a couple of hours a day when we go outside for play time and walks.
