Airline travel to Europe ( Crate size)

Any advice here? I am checking the Lufthansa website and the largest crate dimensions allowed are 49x28x33 . However it seems I can only find the 48x32x35 online to purchase, and he definitely needs this size. I am actually concerned that even in that he will not be able to stand without his ears touching as they require. Has anyone travelled with a large GSD oversees and could offer advice? Thank you so much in advance

Your pets must be able to stand, turn around and lie down comfortably.

This might give you an idea on crate sizes available

I asked my breeder who has experience at importing his GSD he suggested the following airlines Lufthansa, KLM, Qatar, Emirates said he likes how they handle pets

Hey Regen, wondering how your trip turned out. I will be flying into Germany with my pup as well and am also confused about what seems to be allowed versus what I'm finding available for purchase, the width seems too wide.

Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is old, but I've looked into living abroad with my dogs pretty extensively. The best option for my scenario would be a cruise. There is a cruise line with a kennel that I believe travels between NYC and London. You'll get to visit your dog and seems far less stressful overall.
