Tripe

I've read that tripe is good for dogs. There is a store near me that has fresh tripe. They have beef and other types of tripe, I'm thinking beef. Question is what is the best way to prepare it?

the tripe sold in grocery stores is bleached, which removes the nutritional benefits. If you want the good stuff, get it from a raw distributor. My Pet Carnivore has grass fed green tripe and it is of good quality. They deliver once a month all over the Mid-West.

Definitely get green tripe, not the bleached stuff from the store. And no preparation needed - just feed right from the container. Do be prepared for the smell - we feed raw, but this stuff is something else! Weather permitting, we give it to them outside.

Independent pet food stores that have access to raw food distributors may be able to order Vital Essentials frozen green tripe. It comes in bags of frozen nuggets, in 1# packages. My dog loves crunching on those frozen nuggets -- I don't have to thaw it (so it has no bad smell).

Special ordering it through a local pet food store might allow you to save on shipping.

Thank you all for your responses! Glad I asked, the tripe I saw is white. I will try one of your suggestions, I especially like the frozen thing!
