Puppy health and socialization

I'm new to this site and was trying to find some answers to a puppy concern. First a quick history, I'm quite familiar with most of the powerful breeds like German Shepherds and have been mostly involved with rescuing adult and senior Shepherds. I will soon have the opportunity to raise a GSD puppy, unfortunately it has been a very long time since I've had a puppy in my home. I know that there are milestones that puppies need to reach at certain ages. My concern is this, my puppy will be 8 weeks old when she comes home. Since most studies state that a puppy's immune system will be a little stronger by the time they get their second set of immunizations, how do I exercise her and socialize her if I cannot expose her to too much of the neighborhood just yet?

There is a great thread, lots of information here. https://www.germanshepherds.com/forum...alization.html

My youngest was a winter puppy and the weather was cold, wet and nasty. I would load him up and take him to tractor supply and lowe's. I carried him or let him ride in the buggy.

Invite your friends over and tell them to be nice to the puppy, that would be a good start until the puppy could be let out
