Weight Fluctuation

I FINALLY took Kaiser to a nearby vet to get him weighed. I haven't used their scale before, so I'm not sure exactly HOW much error to expect, but apparently Kaiser has lost 2 pounds.

A little background:

He weighed approximately 65 pounds for about a month (this was almost 2 months ago). Then about 3-4 weeks ago I took him to a vet just to get his weight and their scale read 66.5. That made sense to me, since I do know that they grow in spurts. However, almost a month goes by and now he is back down to 64.5? Can that be right?

I realize the best method is to use the same scale every time. I won't really know until I get back home and use my personal scale (assuming I can even pick him up by then, lol).

I know 2 pounds makes a much bigger difference in smaller breeds than large breeds, but assuming the scales were calibrated the "same" and he has been eating the same, should I be concerned about a "measly" 2 pounds?

He is 9 months and 3 weeks old now.

I wouldn't be concerned, especially since you used different scales. Assuming he's healthy and happy in all other regards, I don't think 2 pounds is anything to sweat about.

awesome! I can feel his spine, and when he gets wet he looks SO skinny (he does have so much more "floof" than it seems) but his energy is great and no other health problems (aside from a split lip from getting smacked in the face with a stick, poor boy)
