Big day for Spirit

Today I took Spirit to the lake for the first time, Daisy and I's stomping grounds. Hah, it was a comedy, me with 2 dogs, a bit of chaos at times LOL

Spirit did really well. He was so excited by the newness of everything, the water, the leaves, the sticks, Daisy swimming. At one point he fell off the dock into the water (I was distracted with Daisy), it wasn't deep but that set the ball in motion for him I think -- he was swimming in no time Swimming!! He never so much as set foot in Daisy's pool but he was swimming today like he's been swimming forever. He retrieved his first stick from the water

He got lots of exposure to people, even a loud motorcycle driving by. He barked some at a group of people a bit down from us, but he was soon so distracted with how wonderful everything was, he seemed to lose all sense of seriousness. I was soaking wet when we left the lake LOL

One really good thing happened today, I was so proud of him. On our way back to the car, a little boy (5 years maybe) came bounding over yelling, "I want to pet the dogs!" Whoa. His mom called after him, "Make sure you ask first!" Oooookay Spirit did really well with the activity, and with the little boy patting him on the head (he really doesn't like that from strangers). I could tell Spirit wasn't entirely comfortable but he didn't shrink back, he just sat and let the moment happen. Hah, probably didn't hurt that he was exhausted at that point.

And he lost his first tooth this morning Here he is at the lake today, 2 weeks shy of 5 months...
