Came face to face with the white GS that mauled Kira at 3 mths.

Beautiful Saturday here in NY. Took a leashed walk with the family in a local scenic, waterfront park.
Along the way, the white GS that mauled Kira at 3.5 months comes walking our way (on leash) with the owner.
The owner recognizes me, and stops just before me.

The dogs are a couple feet away, when the WGS starts growling, snarling, hacks up, then goes off into a raging frenzy. The dog was literally foaming at the mouth to get at Kira. It was deja vu'

My beautiful, balanced, very stable Kira looked at the dog, couldn't care less, turned her head and looked around at the scenery, as if nothing. No reaction whatsoever. I was so proud of her

We just walked away.

A short while later, I find out (from passerby's) that THAT WGS was banned at the park where Kira was attacked, because he almost killed another dog. The other dog was in ICU.
This dog is viscous.

Just sharing today's story.

Wow, that's so scary! You'd think by this point the owner would muzzle the dog. I'm so glad nothing bad happened to Kira this time around and good job on raising a balanced girl!

You should be very proud of both yourself and Kira. You both deserve a huge pat on the back for all your work. Good job Kira.

Makes you want to carry a stick though! Just in case that dog breaks loose.

Nancy, you hit the nail right on the head. I said that to my wife as we walked away.

Congratulations!! That was the moment you knew the work you and Kira has been doing paid off in a BIG way.

As for carrying a stick, how about one have a stick, and the other have bear spray. Especially now that you know that GSD is out and about.

My wife said the same thing to me. She applauded my determination to have a balanced, well behaved dog.

The stick for the dog, the bear spray for the owner.
There are some REALLY insane owners out there.

I know that everyone has the right to walk their dog, but seriously.. if your dog is unstable like that then the owner must seriously reconsider placing their dog in any scenario where something like that can happen again. I would be furious and make a complaint to the local council.
