Taking 14 week old out for the day

Hi folks

On Saturday I am going to a local country park for the day to do some stuff for my university course. Even though I'll be working as such, it will be quite relaxed and I was thinking I would really LOVE to take Winter, who is now 14 weeks, with me. I'll be there for around 4-5 hours though, I'm concerned this will be too much for her. She's already a bit nervous when outside, even of familiar areas. She would much rather stay at home.

On this day out she'd be bombarded with new things. Lots of people, ducks, geese, waterfalls etc. I was thinking it would be good for her, but maybe it's too much? She gets tired if we walk over a mile also, but this will be a casual day walking through woods and things, where she could take her time and we could have lots of breaks etc. What do you think?

considering she's nervous when out in familiar places
i don't think you should take her. 14 weeks old and nervous
about being, umm. how long have you had your pup?
do much and what kind of socializing are you doing?
get your puppy out and about slowly but surely.
good luck in school and with the pup.

I probably wouldn't take her because of the time frame. If she is nervous (and still very young) 4-5 hours is a long time for her to have to feel uncomfortable, nervous, or scared. Maybe you can take her for a short time everyday between now and Saturday to see how she does. Just a thought.

4-5 hours is a long time to take your puppy out, especially if she's nervous. she might get scared and cry a lot and when she gets home - possibly depressed a bit from getting scared of the new surroundings.

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. I think you are right after thinking about it, she is scared even at our small, local park so I don't think she would do well at the big park. I'll try getting her more used to the smaller one perhaps first.
