Puppy Sprain/Injuries.. need some help

So my pup who is now about 9.5 weeks old was running outside today. He ran about 8 foot and tripped, did a semi barrel role which put him on his side where he began to wail and cry. I ran over picked him up and brought him inside. It took some time for him to calm down. We tried to sit him down on the floor, but he started wailing again. We lifted him up on the couch on my lap and held him down while calling the vet who guess what closes at noon on Saturdays. I called the emergency call service which took an hour to get a Dr. to call me back. In between this time (about 30 minutes after the incident) I gently held the pup over the floor letting him choose where to put his weight without putting his full weight anywhere. He walked a few steps, limped a little then we obviously picked him up again. We told the vet and she said that it doesn't sound like a break. She recommended giving him a baby aspirin and just watching him for a while. (Advised us that an emergency vet visit would cost $200 O_O) We decided to give it a try, but told her to get a hold of the vet who was supposed to be on call. We didn't want to risk anything. He seems fine now.. he is limping a little, but it seems like a sprain. Now.. a few days ago he ran away from a golfcart and seemed like he got hurt a little too, but he recovered almost instantly. Is this a sign of larger problems? or is it just common for young pups who strain themselves. He likes to run and jump so its hard to imagine, but we also don't recall having other puppies doing things like this in the past. I'm thinking about taking him to get x-rays on Monday, but I'm not sure I can afford it at the moment (just activated my AKC Pet Insurance Trial, if anyone has experience with this let me know. The guy acted like they'd cover anything $500 and less during the 60 days, but it seems too good to be true).

I wasn't sure where to post this thread either.. so if its in the wrong place I'm sorry.

He sounds okay. I cant tell you how many times our GSD as a pup stepped the wrong way, jump off a couch the wrong way etc. Some limping, some initial yips. But recovered and moved on. If a limp lasts much longer or weight bearing issues continue after a trip or problem, they have an ortho give him the once over.
