What a GREAT day; I'm a proud Momma!!!
Now that Stark is 11 weeks old, has two sets of shots and is in the critical period for socialization I thought it was time to introduce a weekend ritual to him that my sister and I both enjoy - the farmer's market.
I was hesitant at first because it was REALLY busy, there were about 300 vendors, a mulitude of outdoor performers, horses, cows, a horse race and auction (poor things), children, adults, strollers, etc.; you name it; it was there. I thought forsure this would make him nervous as he has been out for hikes and walks in town but not to anything like this yet.
Well, I must say that I am EXTREMELY PROUD of my boy. He did superb!!!
He stayed by my side, walked nicely on a leash, "sitz and platz" when told, really I almost cried after I realized what he accomplished today.
We were stopped every 10 seconds with someone wanting to ask questions or pet him, which was fine and Stark ate it up.. the little ham.. Haha.
There were other dogs there, and although he did get to look and say hi from a distance, I wasn't comfortable with him actually coming in to contact with them just yet (I perfer to keep it to dogs I already know for now).
A few people asked me if he was a "King Shepherd" so I had to nicely explain (without getting fustrated) the actual truth about that word.. Haha..
All and all it was a great morning/day and I couldn't be happier or more proud of him!
Just thought I would share my day with yous.. Thanks for listening!
