You also need to get the camera down at the level of the dog. You should be shooting level, not downward or upward.

First you need to get the dog to stand still. When starting some times it is handy to have three or even four people. One person does nothing but get the dogs attention so you get the head and neck at the correct angle.

Next you need to shoot level, that means getting down on your knees or get the dog up on a higher level than you. You want to aim just about in the center of the dog.

The angle you shoot at is important.

It isn't easy, but keep trying.
