You want to take the photo at sitting or lying on the ground so you are even with the dog and be directed a point just behind his shoulder. Place the rear leg closest to the camera out so the hock (the back foot area) is straight up and down. The rear leg away from the camera should be set slightly under the dog. Then you want the front legs straight and under the dog. Have the dog looking slightly to its left (not at the camera, but not a true profile) and if he is panting lightly that makes the muzzle look better. To get the ears forward have someone baiting him with either a toy, throwing grass or making noises, something like that.
Your boy has very nice color and looks like a good withers. Try to get some more photos and post again.
