Clicking "Like"

I think of "Like" as either Like or Thanks. Clicked "Like" on all the replies on my introduction thread because, well, I appreciated all the comments. But then I noticed the number of likes posted at the top right of the thread. Are threads ranked by the number of "likes"? I thought it was by most recent post. Just in case, I went back and unliked everything in that thread since I'd already thanked them in my reply back (hope I didn't offend anyone). Felt like I was boosting my own intro.

Maybe I'm overthinking things, LOL.

I searched the forum to see if anyone's asked this question before but "like" is too general a term. Didn't see anything when I did a manual search either. Hopefully, I'm not repeating a thread.

Like is just that you liked what someone had to say. Don't over think it.

I think the "like" option has made this forum "comment" lazy...thus not bumping threads and keeping topics active. Have found the forum kinda boring. "Like" doesn't really specify what you do like. You can highlight what you like if you "quote" what you want from a post

You are too sweet for worrying over it! But it just means you like or agree with what is said.

It's only be around a few months here. It seems to be quite popular. I've never thought about it not bumping threads??? The usual suspects (and I guess I am a member) seem to have no shortage of "stuff" to say that I've noticed.

LOL well ... I huh oh ..."LIKE" the "like" thing. (Pun intended.)

On BoxerForum, they did the same "PassWord" change there, that did here ... except ... they told us first ... just saying. But they did not do the "Like" thing?? I kinda thought it was part of the password thing ... I guess not??
