Spam

i usually don't complain. but, there is the most spam on this forum than i have ever seen on any site in my internet carreer back in '97 with AOL3. surely there can be a harder signup process. it also wastes cell phone data loading a spam post.

I am wondering why the moderators don't remove them....

We ban and remove all spam as soon as we are notified AND we see the notification. This is a VERY active high volume board which is why the excessive amounts of spam. The owners have done what they can to prevent much of it (used to be far worse) without making the board far less user friendly for members.

I just want to reiterate this. Is everyone who sees a spam post using the "notify" button to inform admin about the spam, (and then posting in the thread that it's been reported so there aren't multiple notifications for the same spammer)? If not, then more diligence on the part of the board members will get those spammers cleaned up faster.

They're easy enough to identify most of the time without clicking on it. Usually if the thread has been posted in, it's by someone who's been around for a while or a mod and it's been reported.

Mmmm... don't want to seem as ignorant as this sounds, but where is the 'notify' button?

Below your avatar/location/number of posts, it's the little yellow button with exclamation in it.
