This...is pretty cool. A small part of me is very, very jealous. I know that wild animals have no place in a home, but he would never have stood a chance in the wild. It's an interesting debate.

The exotic animal laws are loose (if existent at all?)...I knew a girl from Russia who grew up on a wild cat sanctuary and had "pet" tigers who were raised in their house (abandoned, etc) until they were like a year and a half...

I like how one person put it in the comments, while normally wild animals should live in the wild, don't be so blind as to not see exceptions. This animal could never be let into the wild, it would die, or get shot because it doesn't have that fear of animals.

Better to be in a home were people know how to take care of it at least. There are people out there who know what they are doing when they keep certain animals as pets.

Something else to consider is that certain wild species of cats have been known to adapt to domesticated life quite well, even co-existing with domesticated dogs and cats peacefully. That makes cases like these less black and white. I have no problem with this kind of scenario, though in general I agree that wild critters belong in the wild.

My only issue is that some people will, more will follow. Then, people will be careless. Then someone will get hurt. the 11 year old girl is no match for a lynx. But yeah, I am jealous too, I would love a big cat too.

While I totally agree with what you are saying, I hate it when the media makes it sound like a really cool idea. It's just not for most folks.

If you can count on the media for at least one thing...its that they will always spin something.
