Stephen Huneck Passed Away

Some of you might be familiar with Stephen Huneck, the artist from VT who has Dog Mountain and the Dog Chapel, along with his art gallery.

He committed suicide yesterday. He had been depressed about his economic situation and was afraid he was going to lose everything. He and his wife laid off their employees this past Tuesday. He shot himself in the head in the parking lot of his psychiatrist's office.

How sad. I really liked his artwork.

I'm not familiar with the man but his artwork looks good and familiar.

A tragedy. At least his suffering is over. My sympathies for his family, friends, fans and other people that cared for him that will suffer his loss.

Re: Stephen Huneck Passed Away

I feel so sad for his family & friends & especially his wife who is already expressing her remorse & guilt for this - if only there was a way to make the survivors feel UNresponsible when a loved one takes that path

Re: Stephen Huneck Passed Away

What terribly sad news. I lived not far from where he had his gallery in Woodstock, VT. It was always one of my favorite stops on the green.

What a talented and caring man.

So sad. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. He will be missed.

I have visited the chapel, and it is a very spiritual and wonderful place.
