Preparing for emergency situations

I am looking for tips on caring for your animals in emergency situations. Things I'm looking for is emergency food resources, emergency care, health issues, etc. An example: Maybe you are in an isolated area and your animal is hurt, what do you do? Or what if there is issues with access to store bought items what can you feed? Should I consider maybe a basic vet care course? All aspects just looking for emergency or emergency planning tips.

I think it depends on what kind of emergency you're talking about. We have a general preparedness kit if we are ever evacuated for some reason (it started when we lived in a hurricane-prone area), or in the event of a house fire, etc. In that kit is a week's worth of kibble for each dog, several gallons of water, a first aid kit, extra collars, leashes, and tags, and extra medications for my male. I also have laminated cards with all contact info and vet info, and my dogs are microchipped.

General first aid knowledge is always good to have.

I would say both short term and long term tips. As you said, there are so many types of emergencies. Maybe if anyone can even share things they have done or steps they have taken. I make little books with tips and instructions I always keep in hand.

I have a 10 supply if needs for me and my dog. Generally after 10, save a crazy nuclear event, I should be out if a danger area. Things I have on hand are:

10 days of:

Food for each animal stored in an airtight container

Water( I also have water purification tablets)

Basic health records- rabies shots, microchip records, photos of each animal

Basic medical supplies, bandage material, basic meds( doxy, flagyl, Benadryl)

Emergency contact info- people outside of my basic radius, so I can reconnect with someone not affected

Copies of my insurance info, passport, title on my house, will, stuff like that.

Canned foods for 10 days, or protein bars, something that won't spoil but be nutritious and water for me.
