sign of worms?

Hello All,

I hope I'm posting this in the right spot. Mods feel free to move if I'm not and sorry for the inconvenience.

I noticed today that our dog Spike (spaniel mix) started rubbing his butt on the carpet after coming in from outside and doing his business . I have heard that this is a sign of worms and wasn't sure if I should get him to the vet even though I've only *seen* him do it this one time. He was checked for worms several weeks ago and Rocco was also checked for worms last eek when he went to the vet.

Re: sign of worms?

I believe it could also be an indicator of anal glands needing to be expressed. I would recommend a vet visit to locate the issue and treat it.

Re: sign of worms?

Butt schooching is more often a sign of anal glands that need to be expressed (over full).

It could also just be that the dog had an itch.
