New account since I was having issues with the old one. For whatever reason password change (since I forgot my old one) was being funky. So I figured this is a chance for me to start my account fresh
So my question is what are some good links (I've already read the ones in the sticky) for how to transition to the barf diet?
I found this site Perfectly Rawsome which shows what ratio and what meats and veggies should be provided in each category. Is this information all correct?
Olivia is officially one year old and I feel better about switching her to raw now that I won't have to do any difficult measurements due to growth.
So from what I've gathered through my reading and past research is that you want to start with a single protein. Usually chicken for those first transitioning to the raw diet. Then slowly every few weeks introduce new proteins. Then at some point start introducing organ meat and liver?
So I'm confused on the timeline for introducing foods and what I should ideally be starting with. I've tried to read other treads but can't seem to get all my information straight.
Should I be adding any supplements? I've heard salmon oil is good?
My dog is around 65 pounds (will take her in to get her weight once we start raw) and is pretty active. Now that winters here not so much but still in the moderate to active category. Which means I need to be doing 2.5% or 3% based on activity level from what I've gathered.
She does great eating her veggies within her kibble as well as her fruits when she's given them. When I offered raw rabbit (left over from our cat who was having health issues) she refused it, however did nibble it. She chews raw bones and eats the meat off of those so I think it was just the new experience or perhaps she just didn't like rabbit.
Any help or thoughts? Links are great and I appreciate any help you can offer
