Need help with Avatar

OK, for some reason I can't figure it out. I can't get my pics small enough to be an avatar. I can change the pixel dimensions down to 100x100, but I'm always over 19k. Help!

What program are you using? In photoshop you can decrease the quality until it falls under 19kb. Also, try saving as .gif, .png and .jpg. One format is smaller than the other

hmm...I got it but it looks crummy...I'll have to do some more testing...

I have no idea why, but any photo I upload to be an avatar fits. I never check the size. For instance, my current avatar 780KB. Previous ones have been larger.

You need to save them at a lower resolution.
