If its affecting people's computers it is a virus most likely.

Its a virus, what they want you to do is buy their antivirus software!!

I got a pop up that said your under attack! to stop the attack click here, I thought it was my antivirus so i clicked on the "click Here" link and it crashed my computer...

I had to go to CNET and download a program called RKILL and run it then I ran a registry cleaner and downloaded AVAST for free!! and it fixed my computer..

BEWARE

This was on the news the other day. It said not to click anywhere on the popup, cuz that's what installs the virus. Wondering how to get rid of the popup - turn the computer off?

Why people still use Internet explorer is beyond me. It's so full of security holes that anyone with the desire can hack it. It's unfortunate, and ridiculous that MS hasn't dealt with it yet, but that's the way it is.

Switch to Firefox and you will no longer suffer these headaches. I'm a pretty much retired programmer, and I'm sure 100% of the computer people I know would give the same advice.
Not to mention that Firefox has a lot of functionality not available with IE.

Thats a Microsoft Internet Explorer error, not to be confused with something that is a real error.

Amen Bro, been on Firefox long time love the ad killer plug in's and also killing the flash ads and viruses. With adblock never to worry again about hijacked browsers due to stuff Gates and Co feel is safe because they designed it. I can go to a malware infested website and cruise all over it and click away and leave there with no infections; just like your doing. Although for the non-techy types beware some of the internet is purposely disabled so I don't have all the fun malware infected games or other nasty stuff come up either but it can make for a boring website some times.
