What happened to a the blinking indicator that one had new private messages?

Different software now and the little blinky envelope is not on this software.

If you look toward the top you'll see your name like this;

Welcome, pamela berger.
You last visited: Today at 12:17 PM
Private Messages: Unread 0, Total
View Your Threads | View Your Posts
Increase font size: 0, 10, 25, 50%

See on the 3rd line it says "private messages" and how many are unread. This is how you know now if you have new messages. Or you can change your settings to have a small notice window pop up when a new message comes in but I believe you have to have pop-ups allowed on your computer.

No, there is no flashing indicator. You have to look up in the righthand corner where you log in. It will tell you how many unread messages you have.
