Mark Forums Read does not work

I have found that if you use the BACK button on your browser it does NOT recognize that you have actually read all the posts in a forum - until you exit the board and come back.

ETA - even if you use the Mark Forum Read option, if you use your BACK button instead of clicking on another forum it will not recognize it right away.

I'm not using the back button, I"m reloading from my bookmark, or going to the Forums link at the top of the page. Maybe I have to close my browser.....

On my phone, even when I reloaded the page, it didn't show correctly on the forum view.

It appears as though it depends on what you click to get into the forum, whether it will mark the forum as read. If you get into the forum using New Posts or using this button by someone's post, it does not seem to recognize it.

Now, as a mathematician, I just am having problems dealing with a system that is so terribly illogical and inconsistent, in addition to all the other frustrations that folks are having

and to continue my rant...if the last post in the forum is mine that I just posted, and I go back to the forum page, it lists it as unread. Surely I read the post that I just posted????
