Default Editing time

I made a post in a thread at 2:00 (PST) this afternoon. I just went in and was able to post an edit to it 5 hours later. This time to edit is going to get much much shorter? The delete button was available as well.

Would love to have longer to edit posts - that would be a huge plus!

I know that it will be a definite time limit. I assumed that it would be the same amount of time, but I don't know that for sure. When the new site is set up for good, then the time limit will be set.

I'm guessing that needs to be fixed. I think about 15 min is enough time to edit, and the delete needs to be disabled or there will be so much 'disappearing' it will be inmpossible to follow some threads.

Here was a post for a few days ago about editing.

http://www.germanshepherds.com/forum...=1#Post1348327

Basic Info from that Thread about Editing:

Question by Bravestdog, #1. allowing editing, indefinately.

Reply by shepherds: 1. Not happening.

Question by Bravestdog: 2. allowing the poster to delete posts that are off topic, argumentative, irrelevant...

Reply by shepherds: 2. Not happening.

The rule of thumb to follow whether it's on this site or any other public internet site is that you should think carefully before you post a message. It's the same manner as thinking before you speak. If you make an erroneous comment in a public conversation with a coworker, there is no way for you to "delete" or "take back" what you've said. It's out there for everyone to hear. Same applies on the internet.

There are settings that will need to be changed from what you are seeing on the test board.

Edit time limits have been corrected on the test site to reflect what is currently allowed on THIS site. It will carry over to the LIVE site too.
