I don't think the current forum software allows for us to change the username you created for log in purposes. I could be wrong but I've sniffed around and have not found anything yet.

Again, rest assure, there will be no surprises. We are working on a gameplan to ensure that everyone will be able to reach the mods/admins to handle the username change if you need it. Stay tuned.

Everyone has a Display name. By default it's your user name. It shows up above your Avatar and when I quote you it shows up at the top of the quote box.

edit* nevermind that, I reread what you wrote.

What I mean is there is no where in 'My Profile' that gives me the opportunity to change it or gives any indication there's a difference between display name and user name. Never even knew there was until this thread.

I don't think you can actually change it once it's been set up. Back when my hubby signed up there was no option to have a different username and display name, and you're been a member longer than I have. Newer people who signed up more recently with updated software apparently did have the option. But once it's done, you can't change it yourself, I had to have an admin do it for me.

I would suggest that users go check the email address in your profile and make sure it is current.

Normally you can easily get your password from a Vbulletin board, as it will mail it to the email address that is in your user profile.

If it is not current this would cause a problem.

I would imagine the profile email address will be imported into the vbulletin database, making retrieving your password quite simple after the conversion.
