Training time?

Whats a good amount of time to spend on training tricks and obedience everyday? I dont want to overwhelm my puppy or feed him too many treats.

I try to keep sessions really short even with an older dog. My puppy thinks kibble is a fine treat. Things like little bits of meat also make good treats and one doesn't need to worry about "too much" with either of these.

I have a 10 week old pup. We do about 15 minutes of training twice a day currently.

Each session I probably reward 50-100 times.

Every minute I spend with a puppy is training time using positive reinforcement.

This, so much this! I use a whole meal's worth of kibble over the course of a couple hours to train, often giving a jackpot of a handful when I get an exceptional response from the pup. As far as formal training, I tend to keep it at around two minutes or so, since puppies seem to have the attention span of a gnat on crack. But all day, every day is training if you just make it part of the way things work.

I train my 9 week old for 5-10 minutes, 3 times a day. I just make sure to stop before she starts getting frustrated. She seems to be more willing to do it again if we end on a good note.
