In the other topic I was talking about the Crate Games and how I was turned into a Believer.
And here is why: Both, Nala and Indra would take crates apart over seeing another dog working outside. They both went ballistic. Indra pulled a crate door inwards just to get out on a search. Just for a search... you can imagine how much more she'd ramble in a crate if she saw a sleeve or another dog working on a sleeve. Now double that, and you've got Nala in a crate. So three weeks ago we started training with Debbie Zappia. The first thing she did was have all of us go through with the crate games and three weeks ago, THIS would have never been possible. Both of them would have been all over the place. There wouldn't have been any calmness. The only mistake I did was to use "free" while Indra was on the platform. It's the release command for all of my dogs. So I switched to the name. Since she's knocked over the camera I had to put it back up and all you can see is a little bit of her foot on the platform. She stayed the whole time while I worked with Nala on the games. It's just two minutes out of half an hour but I think you get the idea. It also transfers to the car. They may bark every now and then but they won't take the crates apart anymore. They are much much calmer. These are the results from just three weeks of training. And anyone that has a dog with kennel/crate drive with dogs that are destroying the car crates should seriously consider doing these games. The results are AMAZING!
