Potty training

Have recently purchased my new boy Kizer. I'm waiting to bring him home on this coming Monday when I have everything set and ready for him and I'm very excited!

My question is, what potty training methods have worked for you? I am new to german shepherds, and I'd really like some input on potty training my new pup.

What i did that worked for us take him out in the back yard every hour or so and he picked a spot and peed I praised like he had just won the lottery. So within a couple of days he would wimper to let me know he wanted to gout.

Did your pup have any accidents in the house? & if so, what did you do about it?
