Hey guys, I just got a 12 week old German Shepherd and was wondering if I can get some advice on how to train him. I figured joining this forum will be helpful.
I have already trained him to sit, but have a little trouble teaching him other things, because he seems to get distracted easily. Any advice will be appreciated. |

Thank you. For example, I tried teaching him how to lay down by reading some tutorials online. He always seems to want to grab the treat without actually going down. What can I do to make him lay down, so I can then praise him and give him the treat?

You should get him in a puppy class as soon as you possibly can. 8-12 weeks is a very important time for you puppy to start learning socialization skills.

He's actually close to 15-16 weeks. I had miscounted in my original post. Im sure that is also pretty young. I just posted in the trainer forum to look for a good one in the Los Angeles area. Thank you. |
