I've been pondering...which usually means I am over thinking something. But still it's been weighing heavily on my mind, so I thought I'd ask what your thoughts would be.
I smoke, but not in the house. When I go outside for a cig, Hondo wants to go out with me. Many times, I'll try to sneak out of the house so Hondo doesn't hear me. I'll even get on my hands and knees and crawl through the house so he doesn't see me. If I make it to the door before he notices, then I'll holler, "HA HA! Tricked you!" He'll leap from where he is at and rush to the door. I always let him out with me. Always. Silly game, but we have fun. I rarely win. But what I've done is make him ultra sensitive to any movement I make. If I cross my legs, he'll jump up. If I get up to go into the kitchen, he jumps up. If I try to move with out him hearing me, he'll open his eyes as if to say, "I'm still watching you!". He is 20 months, zero seperation problems, has a great sense of humor, no problems asking him to wait when I open the door. But by playing this game, could I be making him overly reactive to going outside? Or maybe overly reactive to movements within the home? Would that even be a problem?

Quit smoking its healthier... lol
It seems you unintentionally taught Hondo to react with your every move. I guess it could have its advantages and of course disadvantages. I'm not expert, but maybe use the down/stay when you move across the room or go out for a smoke. Hondo's habit is to follow you outside or to keen in on your every move. I'd say its only a problem if you think it is.
