Default Help with going bye~bye .................

OK, I need some advice with getting Storm from point A to point B, B being the Jeep !

He gets so crazy when he knows we're going to class, etc that trying to lead him to the Jeep is not happening & makes me mad. Does everything else pretty good, but he gets so darn excited when he sees the Jeep hatch open that his brain has a major brain fart !

He also will do this when heading home from somewhere, can't get to the Jeep fast enough. Once in I can leave the hatch open all day & he would just stay put.

I'm getting sick of all the corrections with popping of the collar saying no, easy, etc ! I turn & walk the other way & try again, but he is NOT calming down !

~HELP~

Put him on leash.
Walk him up to the Jeep.
Open the hatch.
Close the hatch.
Walk him back into the house.

Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat!!!!!

If he ALWAYS gets to go in the car when you open the hatch he'll ALWAYS react that way.

With me it was the leashes. My old guys, Riggs & Neke, would go CRAZY when I picked up their leashes ... because it ALWAYS meant they were going somewhere. So I started just picking up the leashes, carrying them around the house for a minute and then putting them back. Several times every day until they stopped reacting.

K

I was going to let him get in the Jeep & then back out, but don't leave. I like your thinking better.

Will it ever stop ?

They all go nuts with the leash thing to, will have to work on that one also.
